  1. Regulation 5 on “Labelling” should be 0.01% threshold given that the event-specific testing protocol is available in Indian labs at 0.01% detection level. 1% GM threshold will result in 100 times dilution.

    2. Labeling should become mandatory if any food contains individual GM ingredient/ material at 0.01% threshold. This applies to genome editing as well, since techniques for detection have been evolved for genome edited materials.
