A new publication, this time from the Special Secretariat for Family Farming and Agrarian Development (Ministry of Agrarian Development, Brazil), called Transgenic Crops Hazards & Uncertainties – More than 750 studies disregarded by the GMOs regulatory bodies, once again presents clearly to us the risks of transgenic plants to the health and environment, and scientific evidence on the same. “The information here gathered reinforce the urgent need for critical analyses of the current agricultural and agrarian development model, opening the discussion for the search for alternatives for the rural environment and livelihood” says the preface to this Book, brought out as part of NEAD Debate Series (27).
